  1. Heat a Kadhai and when hot add the oil. Then add in the split urad dal, dry red chillies, slices of onion, ginger, garlic & curry leaves.
  2. Sauté well for a few minutes.

  4. Then add the grated coconut and mix everything well and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Once everything gets cooked well turn off the heat and add salt & Kashmiri chilli powder. Let it cool down completely.
  6. Then grind it to a smooth paste. If you wish to add water you can do it if you like a thin Chutney consistency.
  7. Serve immediately with hot steaming Idlis or crispy Dosas
